Disappointment

"What a disappointment you are young Shatterback... To fall victim to a human woven trap, and to allow yourself to partner with them even! How truly unfortunate." The black dragon snorted, the spines along her back remaining smooth and at ease. Even though the much older dragons comments had struck a nerve, she refused to fan the flames that were his ego. She also didn't wish to give the tiny earth crawly at her side any means of leverage against her reputation later on. It was bad enough to be forced to help him.

"Ignorant old worm..." She retorted, taking a seat on a stone to further prove how unintimidated she was. "I could say the same about you. Our world is beginning to die and you stand idly away as to preserve your pride and ego. You even swath yourself in the mists of these waters as to hide how old and weak you've grown so that man and beast alike continue to fear you."

The younger dragon's frills twitched and her expression grew more smug as she noticed the tiniest, momentary break in the other dragon's mask of confidence and calm. "True, I was caught, and this damnable bind keeps me caught. But at least I'm not hiding myself away." She chuckled darkly, relishing the feeling of superiority she felt, as she saw the calm facade of the older dragon fall away in his eyes. "You have no such hindrance... If you are more cowardly then a captured dragon, then it appears that..."

"... YOU are a disappointment..."

Not sure if the text was necessary or accurate... take it as you will I suppose. Wanted to add something cool to the picture so BOOM, short story times with Star.

I was mostly sketching with dragon faces and trying to use a Skyrim dragon style chin. As per usual, sketch turned into something bigger and then lo and behold, it became a test of water, perspectives and mist/fog effects... 

Shatterback's anatomy here doesn't give her credit... She also needs a first name...

Nilz sounds good... I was gonna to Sinoper, but decided against it as it references a color she doesn't have...
